Vintage Kodak Print Marker Disks Circular Lead Graphite Disks for Photofinishing

These Vintage Kodak Print Marker Disks are circular hard graphite disks that were used in the photofinishing industry to mark the backs of prints on a long roll during the printing operation to facilitate automated cutting after processing. While they are unlikely to have much actual use these days, there is nothing else like them still being manufactured...I have checked. They have great historical significance in automating the industry, especially in the early 1970's when 'borderless' prints became enormously popular (and earlier for Ektachrome reversal prints which could not use an optical mark on their face side). Years later punch style markers all but completely replaced lead markers. I remember that these were very costly new and nobody made them but Eastman Kodak. When used properly, each disk was capable of marking
many tens of thousands of prints. Enough history...this lot contains 25 markers total, as shown in the photos: 15 of the larger #701c type (about the size of a quarter) and 10 of the slightly smaller, older variety (about the size of a nickel). The smaller ones are not in their original case. The larger ones fit Kodak 5S, 8S and 11S type printers, as well as various other printers and roll-paper easels such as Speedmaster and Lucht with adapters. The smaller ones are much older (late 1950s to early 1960s) and were made to fit Kodak Velox and 4R type printers.  Ok, I know, too much history....      These are no doubt rare collectibles from a fallen industry.

+In order to offer Free Shipping on some items, as well as faster delivery options, eBay's technical requirements sometimes
force me to pre-select a carrier. I reserve the right to change carriers in order to get the best price and options. If you
have trouble receiving packages from a particular carrier due to location or some other circumstance, please let me know
this in your order note and I will do my best to accommodate you.
