I’ve been carving for years for myself and friends . I use a combination of wood chisels and power tools to go from a block of wood to the final shape. Once I have the shape and details of sculpted item I hand paint usually from memory of how I saw the fish in its natural environment. In this case snorkeling off the coast of Venezuela in margarita island . The color theme is how I remembered the fish. I did not go into a book to see the actual color detail of the fish. I spent a few days to finish and paint the carving. This carving I’d flat on the back so it’s made to be hung on a wall . For example to emphasize a nautical theme in a summer house near the ocean.
