    Description

    An Undated (from between 1919 and 1921) Re-Release Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" / 28 x 36 cm)
Note that in 1919, the Clark-Cornelius Corporation bought the rights to the early Charlie Chaplin shorts, and began re-releasing them. In 1922, they released them for the last time, and in that year, they changed their name to C.C. Pictures. Some of the re-release paper from this company has the original release date on it, but they definitely date from between 1919 and 1921 if they say "Clark-Cornelius Corporation" or from 1922 if they say "C.C. Pictures". In the case of this card it has "Republic Pictures" above the title and a tiny box with Clark-Cornelius below the title, so we know the card dates from between 1919 and 1921. Note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world
    condition very good.
